Patent Ductus Arteriosus is a condition where the ductus arteriosus, a temporary fetal blood vessel, fails to close after birth.
When PDA remains open, oxygen-rich blood from the aorta flows back into the pulmonary artery, leading to:
1. Fast breathing or shortness of breath
2. Poor weight gain in infants
3. Fatigue during activity
4. Heart enlargement
5. Increased pressure in the lungs
