LM Stenting (Left Main Coronary Artery Stenting)

What is Left Main Coronary Artery Stenting ?

Left Main Coronary Artery Stenting (LM Stenting) is an advanced cardiac procedure used to treat blockage in the left main coronary artery, one of the most important arteries supplying blood to the heart.

This procedure is usually performed during Angioplasty after a blockage is detected through Angiography. A small mesh tube called a stent is placed in the artery to keep it open and restore normal blood flow to the heart.

The Left Main Coronary Artery is a major artery that supplies blood to a large portion of the heart muscle. It divides into two important branches:

LAD (Left Anterior Descending Artery)

LCX (Left Circumflex Artery)

When is LM Stenting Recommended ?

1. Significant blockage in the left main coronary artery

2. Severe chest pain (angina) due to reduced blood flow

3. High risk of heart attack

4. Patients who are not suitable for bypass surgery

5. Coronary artery disease affecting the left main artery

Benefits of LM Stenting

✔ Restores normal blood flow to the heart

✔ Reduces chest pain and heart-related symptoms

✔ Lowers the risk of heart attack

✔ Minimally invasive compared to open-heart surgery

✔ Faster recovery time
